ELDORADO, Texas - The scared girl, already a mother at 16, whispered into a cell phone: she wanted out. She’d been forced to spiritually marry a man more than three times her age, becoming his seventh wife.

Her husband sexually assaulted her, and when he was angry, he would beat her while other women held her infant, she told a family violence shelter in a series of secret calls that triggered an investigation of the polygamist sect here.

The girl had looked for opportunities to escape before, but she was warned that outside the double-gates blocking entry to the Yearning For Zion Ranch, in a world completely foreign to her, she would be forced to cut her hair and wear makeup, and to have sex with many men — all damning transgressions in a faith where modesty calls for women to wear long underwear year-round under pioneer-style dresses.

At the end of one call she began to cry; she wanted to take it all back.

But child welfare officials allege in court documents released Tuesday that the compound built by leaders of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was rife with sexual abuse, with girls spiritually married to much older men as soon as they reached puberty and boys groomed to perpetuate the cycle.

The documents detail the hushed phone calls, but days after raiding the West Texas compound, officials still aren’t sure where the girl is.

TrashDispatch: The Trash Dispatch has been taking a lot heat from citizens (particularly from female citizens), indignant of the fact that the TD has taken a stance of defending the constitution and the Due Process of Law regarding this matter, and has itself been called, a “perpetrator” of female of Child sexual abuse.

Nevertheless, the fact remains that the little girl who “allegedly” contacted Child Protective Services has Still not been found, and may not even exist as Law Enforcment Authorities have known about the YFZ Ranch for years, yet did Nothing, as they had No Evidence to go on Until, these “Scared girl” phone calls. Or did they?

Warren Steed Jeffs (born December 3, 1955, in San Francisco, California) was, and possibly may still be, the leader of a controversial Mormon fundamentalist polygamist sect known as the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS Church) from 2002 to 2007. Jeffs’ position in this organization was reportedly that of absolute ruler.

Jeffs gained international notoriety in May 2006 when he was placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution on Utah state charges related to his alleged arrangement of extralegal marriages between his adult male followers and underage girls. He was arrested in August 2006 in Nevada, and agreed to be taken to Utah for trial. In May and July of 2007 the State of Arizona charged him with eight additional counts—including sexual conduct with minors and incest—in two separate cases. His trial, begun early in September of 2007 in St. George, Utah, lasted less than a month, and on September 25 the verdict was read declaring him guilty of two counts of rape as an accomplice. On November 20, 2007 he was sentenced to imprisonment for 10 years to life and has begun serving his sentence at the Utah State Prison. …

… Before his 2006 arrest, Jeffs had last been seen on January 1, 2005, near Eldorado, Texas, at the dedication ceremony of the foundation of a large and elaborate new FLDS temple on an area of land called the YFZ Ranch. The ranch, which Jeffs’ church reportedly planned to designate as its new home base,[citation needed] came into the public eye when Texas authorities took legal custody of 416 children on April 7, 2008 when a 16-yr old called and reported abuse. She said she was married to a 50-yr old man and had given birth to his child at age 15. - wikipedia.warrenjeffs

So there you have it folks. The Cops Knew about the YFZ Ranch all along. So why didn’t they do anything about the “goings on out there”, then?

In deed, why didn’t they do a Nation-wide investigation into All of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints churchs, at the time of Jeffs’ conviction?

Well, I’m no expert. But I’m guessing it’s because, “there were No Complainants”. At least not until now. And that’s why I question the validity of the complaint (the scared girl phone call), as there were never any complaints before! And why was this little girl not the very First one to meet the officers at the front gate of the compound waving her arms screaming (or at least saying) “Here I am! Help me!”

Yeah ok! So I do know why. As she’s probably retreated into shame with a some sort of grandiose guilt complex for having destroyed her family and friends lives. I mean, that’s what happens to people, you know? It’s like, the “Stockholm Syndrome” where prisoners of war became sympathetic with their captors. And even went so far as to blame their own countries, for their captivity. (Which is what I fear about John McCain but that’s, another story.)

Truth is I’m Glad they busted up this Child Sexual Abuse “Cult”! And my only hope is that the brave little girl who made that phone call, eventually does come forward, otherwise I fear that all resulting cases may have to be dismissed on the grounds of an “Illegal Search and Seizure”. (Or something to that effect.) As in deed that is exactly what the lawyer for the FLDS Church is claiming. That the phone call was in fact, “Manufactured Evidence”.

Yet, and as much as I Hate to agree. The truth is that, as we live in a country of “Life, Liberty, and *Justice for All*”. We Dare Not digress into a land whereby “the End, Justifies the Means”. For to do so, would put us all at risk of the “means”, rather than at risk of the “Punishment”, for our own criminal deeds.

On the word of a “so-far” non-existent 16 yr old girl, the united States Federal Government with Absolutely NO Evidence, Yet under the guise of the Texas Child Protective Services (CPS) Authorities, has moved in and ABDUCTED over 400 Children (that’s, U.S. Citizens) from their families in a small Texas community (YFZ Ranch) located just North of Eldorado and about 120 miles northwest of San Antonio.

Scores of women have also reportedly been removed from or left the compound owned by the secretive sect.

Texas child protection authorities could not immediately be reached for comment.

Lisa Block, a spokeswoman with the Department of Public Safety, told Reuters one person had been arrested at the compound for “interfering with the duties of a public servant” but no one has yet been arrested on charges related to the abuse probe.

“An unknown number of men remain on the compound and are not free to leave,” she said.

Hell No they ain’t free to leave! They are going to find some excuse to Kill Them All! Either by Bullet, or by FIRE like they did with the Branch Dividians. Anybody remember Waco?

I guess, the United States Government has figured out that all you have to do is Label a community as “Secretive”, or as “a Religious Sect”, or …“a bunch of No Good Dirty Child Molesters”, and you can get the American Public behind you enough to Wipe them out without so much as a whimper of protest.

AH!!! But they didn’t figure on the Trash Dispatch!

Ask yourselves; “Why” and on “What Authority” the US Government has done this, and according a CNN report, they will tell you that;

“According to the search warrant, authorities are seeking Dale Barlow, 50, whom they suspect of having married and fathered a child with a 16-year-old girl.” -CNN- “The warrant cited an “immediate need” for authorities to have access to the 16-year-old and an 8-month-old child with either the last name of Barlow or the girl’s last name. It instructs law enforcement officers to look for any records showing that Barlow and the girl were married and any evidence of them having a child.”

So now Wait a Minute! Since when does a Warrant for the arrest of ONE man, empower law enforcement to remove hundreds of children from hundreds of families? And I’m not even sure it was an “Arrest” warrant as there have been NO FORMAL CHARGES filed! So like, “how are they getting away with this?” and… “What Ever Happened to Due Process???”

Authorities believe that they “had been abused or were at immediate risk of future abuse,” said Child Protective Services spokesman Darrell Azar.

Oh, OK! So authorities only have to BELIEVE you’re a criminal, and you’re a Criminal. Or that you Might Become a criminal, and your a criminal. Well, that’s nothing new.

Marleigh Meisner, a spokeswoman for the Texas Child Protective Services Division, stated; “The children — most of them girls — were being interviewed by special investigators,”

“We’re trying to find out if they’re safe,” she explained. “We need to know if they have been abused or neglected.”

All Right! Now just Stop it Right there!

as a former Grand Juror, I was privy to a certain Child Protective Services case, wherein the interrogation tactics came into question.

In deed it was found, that the “interrogation tactics” used by CPS officials were in fact “Manipulative, Coercive, and Brain Washing”, as the child in this particular case was subjected to HOURS of questioning and Cross-questioning with Rewards for right answers, and Threats of losing their parents for wrong answers.

The child was made to Play Sexual (Mommy and Daddy) Games with Dolls, and then asked Repeatedly; “Did Daddy Touch you there?” - “Did Mommy Touch You there?” — “It’s ok! You can tell me. I’m your Friend.”

CIA? Waterboarding? Torture? Gitmo? Abu Gurib? Are all nothing but a bunch of Amateurs compared to the CPS Child Protective Services “Psy-Ops” division. I mean it one thing to “water board” a terrorist, even a Suspected terrorist. But it’s another thing to be so CRUEL and HEARTLESS and POWER HUNGRY, that you would so Confuse a child that you might Trick them into implicating their parents in a sexually abusive act that NEVER took place, is INSANE!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, the case before the Grand Jury was not against the CPS, but the parents of said child. And as the Grand Jury is Sworn to Secrecy, there was nothing that could be done. Nothing that could be done Except, “No-Bill” the Claims of the CPS official thereby denying them of their Glory(?), Victory(?), ABUSE OF POWER!!!

I cannot tell you how Sick it made me to sit there and listen to that Jack-Booted CPS Official. I mean, these were not things (abuses) which the Grand Jury discovered in their (our) investigation. No, these were the “Facts” as laid out by the CPS Official as to how “she” was able to “break the child”, and get the evidence needed to removed the child, and send the parents to Prison.

Oh you can bet your dispatch I’m gonna stay on top of this one folks. Not that I am “for” child abuse, you understand. But that I am Against- Abuse of Power!

For in truth, as the abuse of power that a parent exhorts against a child is shameful, and “should be” punished. It is however, but a single child. Whereas the abuse of power as I have seen exhibited by Child Protective Services before the Grand Jury is, against the whole family! In deed, it is against ALL FAMILIES!!!! Parents and Children alike!

Again, let me make myself perfectly clear. I HATE Pedophiles! And according to the CNN report;

The church openly practices polygamy in two towns straddling the Arizona-Utah state line — Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Arizona — but members living on their Texas ranch rarely venture into Eldorado, four miles to the south.

Critics of the sect say that it arranges marriages for girls as young as 13 and that competition for brides may be reduced through exiling young men. If male followers are excommunicated, the critics claim, their wives and children can be reassigned to someone else.

But the Muslims do Exactly the Same thing, and you don’t see the United States Government (or CPS) moving against them.

China’s coal mines kill 3,786 in 2007

Trash Dispatch: frm Yahoonews; “Accidents in China’s notoriously dangerous coal mines killed nearly 3,800 people last year, state media reported Saturday — a toll that is a marked improvement from previous years, but still leaves China’s mines the world’s deadliest.”

A total of 3,786 were killed in mining accidents in 2007 — 20 percent lower than the 2006 toll, indicating the effectiveness of a safety campaign to shut small, illegal mining operations and reduce gas explosions, the Xinhua News Agency quoted the head of China’s government safety watchdog as saying.

Coal is the lifeblood of China’s booming, energy-hungry economy. The mining industry’s safety, which has never been good, has often suffered as mine owners push to dig up more coal to take advantage of higher prices.

Trash Dispatch: Incredible but true, the recent Tiger Attack at the San Francisco Zoo could increase Zoo attendance nation wide. The AP reports;

Previous incidents haven't hurt attendance elsewhere

"Attendance at the Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans wasn't hurt in the weeks after a walkway collapsed and 10 people fell into a 400,000-gallon shark tank in 2002, spokeswoman Melissa Lee said."I would say certainly interest spiked," Lee said. "There's always a bit of morbid curiosity of people wanting to see where an accident took place." "

But also that;

In March 2004, a 340-pound gorilla named Jabari escaped the Dallas Zoo, went on a 40-minute rampage through a forest and attacked four people, including a toddler, before officers shot it to death. ...

... The zoo reopened the day after the attacks, with the gorilla habitat closed, and officials offered free admission to draw visitors back, Eckert said.

"We found that people were actually quite understanding," she said, citing a public opinion study conducted by the zoo shortly before the habitat reopened. "People, if anything, thought maybe we needed more money or something."

Except for the fact that Winter has beset most of the country, nation wide zoo attendance might well have increased, as merely speaking the word Zoo, invokes all kinds of Dreams of Wonder and Fantasy. "Why, I think I might just go to the Zoo myself. C-ya."

But seriously folks! Man-eating Tigers, Gorillas Tearing people in half, and Bears devouring their trainers, are all good draws for the zoo. And the longer the attacks are talked about in the news, the more it's on the peoples minds. Hence, attendance increases nation wide (when and where weather allows).

It is therefore the opinion of the Trash Dispatch, that we should "Fix the Tiger Pit, and make it Deeper. *But not too deep! After all, a visit to the Zoo just got a whole lot more Exciting!"

Tiger Escapes, Kills Man at San Francisco Zoo

A Large Siberian Tiger Escaped a San Francisco Zoo to kill one person on, of all things, Christmas Day!

Two others were also wounded though they are expected to recover.

The two injured men were listed in stable condition at San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. John Brown, an emergency room physician, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Wednesday they suffered deep bites and claw cuts to their heads, necks, arms and hands.

“These injuries are severe injuries, but they are very treatable, and these two gentlemen seem to be in good health, so I think they have a good chance,” Brown said.- (AP)

Further, as reported by the Jackson Sun-
“The zoo’s director of animal care and conservation, Robert Jenkins, could not explain how Tatiana escaped. The tiger’s enclosure is surrounded by a 15-foot-wide moat and 20-foot-high walls, and the approximately 300-pound female did not leave through an open door, he said.”

“There was no way out through the door,” Jenkins said. “The animal appears to have climbed or otherwise leaped out of the enclosure.”

The first attack happened right outside the Siberian’s enclosure - the victim died at the scene. A group of four officers came across his body when they entered the dark zoo grounds, Mannina said.

The second victim was about 300 yards away, in front of the Terrace Cafe. The man was sitting on the ground, blood running from gashes in his head and Tatiana sitting next to him.

The cat attacked the man again, Mannina said. The officers approached the tiger with their handguns. Tatiana moved in their direction and several of the officers fired, killing the animal.

Only then did they see the third victim, who had also been mauled. [link]

A real Tragedy. And on Christmas Day, for Christ sake! Is there no Salvation from the Horrors of this world?

I don’t like speculating, and won’t. But, can you imagine sitting at a cafe’, with your family, when suddenly a Raging Tiger Attacks you?

Think also of the children, Watching! And of their dreams, now turned Nightmares.

Evel Knievel Dead at 69

Evel Knievel, the red-white-and-blue-spangled motorcycle daredevil whose jumps over crazy obstacles including Greyhound buses, live sharks and Idaho’s Snake River Canyon made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.

Knievel’s death was confirmed by his granddaughter, Krysten Knievel. He had been in failing health for years, suffering from diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs.

Knievel had undergone a liver transplant in 1999 after nearly dying of hepatitis C, likely contracted through a blood transfusion after one of his bone-shattering spills.

Longtime friend and promoter Billy Rundel said Knievel had trouble breathing at his Clearwater condominium and died before an ambulance could get him to a hospital.

“It’s been coming for years, but you just don’t expect it. Superman just doesn’t die, right?” Rundel said.

Immortalized in the Washington’s Smithsonian Institution as “America’s Legendary Daredevil,” Knievel was best known for a failed 1974 attempt to jump Snake River Canyon on a rocket-powered cycle and a spectacular crash at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. He suffered nearly 40 broken bones before he retired in 1980.

Washington Redskins Sean Taylor Dies after shooting

Sean Taylor, a star defensive player with the National Football League’s Washington Redskins, died on Tuesday after being shot during what police said was a possible burglary at his home near Miami.

Taylor, 24, who was the Redskins’ first pick in the 2004 draft, was shot in the groin area, severing his femoral artery.

He was airlifted to Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital but died from his wound after heavy blood loss.

Said one Dallas Cowboy football fan, “this is Truly a sad day in the NFL. Sean Taylor was a Great football player and he will be missed.”

Incredible, but True!

The LATimes, on October 24, 2007, in a story by Mary Engel an Los Angeles Times Staff Writer, advised California residents fleeing the California Wildfires to,

* Use a garden hose to wet the roof. Wet the ground within 15 feet of the home.

* Leave lawn sprinklers on. If possible, set sprinklers on the roof or near above-ground propane tanks.

The is "BAD ADVICE", said one fire expert.
Leaving sprinklers on, and wetting down lawns, and roofs, does nothing more than rob firefighters of the BADLY NEEDED WATER AND PRESSURE, they need to fight the fires. And when your on a hilltop, with Wildfires Raging all around you, you don't want to run short of either.

Leaving sprinklers on as the LATimes advises causes the firefighters to move in closer to the fires in order to fight them and need i say, that a sudden drop in pressure or loss of water is both Frightening, and Terrifying!

The advice of the LATimes is SO BAD,
that they have now posted the following on their website;
"FOR THE RECORD:
Fire protection: An article in Wednesday's Section A about preparing for a fire evacuation advised leaving lawn sprinklers on and using a garden hose to wet the roof or the area around your house. In fact, sprinklers should be turned off to preserve water for firefighters, and wetting a roof or area around your house is not effective in Santa Ana winds, fire experts say. —".

Officer Killed in President Bush Motorcade

Wow, talk about an irony. It was less than a year ago when another Officer died while escorting the President in Hawaii. Cause of their deaths? "Excessive Speed!"

Today! Monday Aug 27, 2007. Rio Rancho Officer Germaine Casey, 40, crashed at an Albuquerque, New Mexico airport while escorting President Bush, at a point where a road enters an underground parking garage. Details are sketchy as with all things having to do with President Bush. However, it is believed, that Casey's motorcycle hit a curb, and then a tree.

Trish Hoffman, a spokeswoman for the Albuquerque Police Department, stated; "Any time there is a presidential motorcade, the officers, that's part of their job, they drive at a high rate of speed". Officer Casey's motorcycle destroyed, Officer Casey on the ground. President Bush called the wife of officer Casey, to offer his condolences.

Even one of my best friends, a man whom I respect as being "wise". Stated that he could not keep himself from the Temptation to Buy Cheap Chinese products as they are, well, Cheap! Another Collapse Kills Rescue Workers

Trash Dispatch: Thursday, somewhere around 6:30pm, just 6hrs after the Trash Dispatch had reported "a ray of light, and a measure of hope"; Utah's Crandall Canyon mine shook, and 3 of our finest rescues workers died.

I started not to report on yesterday's "Strange Noises". But, I guess, I just wanted to hope so bad that, well, ...now I wonder if my own optimism..., no. Surly not.

Nevertheless it is an uneasy feeling when you lead people to "hope", only to have theirs hopes, ...crushed beneath a pile of rubble. (no pun intended here. I just don't know any other way to put it.) My hopes were crushed too. I really wanted to report on the rescue. That's why I haven't covered this story from the beginning. Because in today's world of Bad news, I wanted to report some Good news.

Maybe I should not have written yesterday's story? Maybe I should have reported on something else? Maybe I should not have been so optimistic? Maybe I should not have prayed? I don't know. But I do know this; the wives and families of those fine men, are all thinking the same kinds of things. And to them, my heart goes out.

Listen folks, I don't know why tragedy happens. But I do know this; "it Didn't happen, because you fixed eggs this morning instead of your usual biscuits and gravy!" It Didn't happen, because because you got angry and said something you should not have said. It Didn't happen, because you played hookie from school, or cheated on a test, or even because you got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning! No! It happened, because in life, there is pain and suffering, and joy and happiness, and yes, even death. And we have those things in life, because without them, there would be no life. And indeed, we would not be who we are.

I wish now, I had not reported on yesterday's hope. But then again, I had to! For just as our fallen rescue workers had to try; - just as our 911 rescuers had to try; - Just as our Husbands and Fathers Had to Try!... So too, we must all try.

And Try, and Try, and Try, and Hope, and Pray,
and do whatever we can do. And do it,
for no more reason than because of, "who" we are.

Strange Noises Heard Deep inside Collapsed Utah Mine

A ray of light, as Strange noises are being heard deep inside the collapsed mine of Huntington Utah.

Officials report hearing "mysterious vibrations" that "could be anything", with one official stating that it could be a "trapped animal". Or even just some "rock breaking underground". Which, if the latter, would support mine owner Bob Murry's assertion that the collapse of the mine was caused by an "earthquake", rather than critics assertions to the contrary. Nevertheless, let's Hope, that if the noises being heard are of an animal natural, that that animal, is "human".

But there's more good news, (if in fact the "noises" are good news). Rescuers are reporting that they have discovered a chamber with at least "potentially" breathable air. This is Very Exciting! But, officials are warning not to get Too excited as Yes, there is a chamber, with at least potentially breathable air. And at least, the possibility for survivors is there. However, at this point, that's all that it is.

So again, nevertheless, we now have More Hope that our prayers will be answered, than what we had before. So Hang in there fellas, We're Coming!!!

Scuba Diving, Searching for Bodies under the I35W Mississippi River Bridge

Even in the summer time the water is "Cold".
And it gets even colder,
when you know what you have to do.

Search, for bodies.

You try not to think about it. You just do it.

Equipment check:
Air? Good.
Tank? Full.
Regulator? Check.
Mask, spit!
I ain't got no spit. Doesn't matter. It's a river. The water is cold, and muddy, and Fast! Just make sure you're "experienced"! And you know what to do in case there is, trouble.

Knife? Sharp.
Weight belt? Release? Check.

Now you're ready. You think.

Oh yeah! One more thing.

Whatever you do, "Don't Panic"!
Don't Panic.
Don't panic,
as your head goes beneath the water.

There are things that Rescue Divers survive, that most people could not even imagine. Like, Fishing Line, trot Lines, Hang-ups, and sharp objects that will tear through your protective gear like it were butter.

Snakes, Giant-size Catfish, Loch ness Monsters? None of those things even "Dare" to go where the Rescue Diver goes. For where the Rescue Diver goes, there is death. And lots, and Lots, of Fear!

But it doesn't matter. Somebody is in trouble.
Or there is a body that needs to be recovered.

So you go. And you search.
And for some reason, it always happens the same.

When you find a body,

it is always,

Face to Face!

Trash Dispatch- Minn. Bridge Collapses... Death toll unknown.

Trash Dispatch:
The I35W bridge across the Mississippi River in Minneapolis Minnesota has Collapsed. The death toll is not yet known but I do know that "Ed Morrissey" over at the Captain's Quarters, is giving a moment by moment account of the accident.

The Trash Dispatch, in acknowledging the resurfacing efforts of construction crews working on the bridge at the time of the collapse, and the questionable Structural construction of the bridge itself, does NOT believe, that terrorism was involved.

Indeed, in watching the television reports, the Trash Dispatch believes that "cheap" construction practices, and an under engineered load design, is at the core of the bridge's failure.
