Bush to veto ban on waterboarding

Trash Dispatch:

Bush to veto ban on waterboardingBush

Finally Bush does something right! or does he?

The San Francisco Chronicle writes;

  • President Bush is to veto legislation Saturday meant to ban the CIA from using waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics and will argue that the agency needs to use tougher methods than the US military to wrest information from terrorism[link]

TrashDispatch: In the old days, waterboarding was not used, as interrogators used rubber hoses and bamboo shoots. Now, waterboarding is used as a more “humane” form of torture. This new anti-waterboarding bill however, would make waterboarding illegal so that interrogators would only be able to “ask” known terrorist, “would you Pretty Please tell us which building your going to blow up next?”.

The argument FOR the bill of course, is waterboarding’s inhumanity, and the fear that it will be used against the innocent.

So let’s see. One cost Lives, while the other cost innocence and humility. Hmmm?

Bagdad Iraq- Saddam Hussien Back in Power!

Saddam Hussein on trial.Trash Dispatch:
Bagdad Iraq- Saddam Hussien Back in Power!

Saddam Hussien returns to power as Iraq’s parliament votes to reinstate former Baath Party officials in a move to reunite the divided country.

—(reuters) Iraq’s parliament voted on Saturday to let thousands of members of Saddam Hussein’s Baath Party return to government jobs, winning praise from Washington for achieving a benchmark step toward reconciling warring sects.

Iraq’s Prime MinisterThe law is the first of a series of measures that Washington has long been pressing the Shi’ite Islamist-led government to pass in an effort to draw the minority Sunni Arab community that held sway under Saddam closer into the political process.

“This law preserves the rights of the Iraqi people after the crimes committed by the Baath Party while also benefiting the innocent members of the party. This law provides a balance,” Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said.

Washington had introduced “de-Baathification” when it administered Iraq in 2003-04, but later acknowledged that the measures went too far and asked Iraqi leaders to ease them. [link]

B by hardline Shiites until their demand that it also include measures to compensate victims of Saddam’s regime was met.

The Justice and Accountability Law was passed unanimously by the 143 members of parliament present in the 275-member house.

It will allow thousands of middle-ranking Baath party members to apply for reinstatement to their jobs in the civil service and military, provided they were not convicted of crimes.

(AP) BAGHDAD - Iraq’s parliament voted Saturday to allow some former members of Saddam Hussein’s Baath party to reclaim government jobs and said others could receive pensions but could not return to work. President Bush said the legislation was “an important step toward reconciliation.”

The U.S. initially promoted de-Baathification but later claimed that Iraqi authorities went beyond even what the Americans had contemplated to keep Saddam’s supporters out of important jobs.

With the Sunni insurgency raging and political leaders making little progress in reconciling Iraq’s Shiite, Sunni Arab and Kurdish communities, the Americans switched positions and urged the dismantling of de-Baathification laws.

Later, enacting and implementing legislation reinstating the fired Baath supporters became one of 18 so-called benchmark issues the U.S. sought as measures for progress in national reconciliation. [link]

BAGHDAD (AFP) - In a major boost for reconciliation in deeply divided Iraq, Shiite and Sunni MPs unanimously passed a law on Saturday allowing ex-officials of Saddam Hussein’s Baath party to return to public life.

The bill, seen by Washington as a key measure of reconciliation in Iraq, had been stalled by hardline Shiites until their demand that it also include measures to compensate victims of Saddam’s regime was met.

The Justice and Accountability Law was passed unanimously by the 143 members of parliament present in the 275-member house.

It will allow thousands of middle-ranking Baath party members to apply for reinstatement to their jobs in the civil service and military, provided they were not convicted of crimes. [link]

US to Send 3,000 More Marines to Afghanistan

Afghanistan TanksTrash Dispatch: The Pentagon is preparing to send at least 3,000 Marines to Afghanistan in April to bolster efforts to hold off another expected Taliban offensive in the spring, military officials said Wednesday.

The move represents a shift in Pentagon thinking that has been slowly developing after months of repeated insistence that the U.S. was not inclined to fill the need for as many as 7,500 more troops that commanders have asked for there. Instead, Defense Secretary Robert Gates pressed NATO allies to contribute the extra forces.

“a proposal will go before Gates on Friday that would send a ground and air Marine contingent as well as a Marine battalion — together totaling more than 3,000 forces — to southern Afghanistan for a “one-time, seven-month deployment.”

Morrell added that Gates’ thinking on the issue has “progressed a bit” over time as it became clear that it was politically untenable for many of the NATO nations to contribute more combat troops to the fight.

“The commanders need more forces there. Our allies are not in the position to provide them. So we are now looking at perhaps carrying a bit of that additional load,” the spokesman said.

Well there you have it folks! We are Now ALONE!!!

Abandoned by our allies in the United Nations, and now even NATO, the United States is left to itself to protect the world.

I don’t know. Maybe it ain’t Christian to say this, but, I say let the world BURN!!! I am SICK and TIRED of trying to help people, and those same people spitting in my face. Sure, Millions of innocents will DIE if we allow the Taliban to Win. But, Even Now, the pacifist Afganistan Tanks are screaming “Blood for Oil” at the move to increase troop strengths in Afghanistan. And as far as I am concerned, if I’m going to be Blamed for it anyway, then let’s just Nuke the place, and Take the oil. Why make it “look like” a war against terrorism, when your going to be accused of improprieties anyway.

I say KILL THEM ALL, TAKE THE OIL, and make the pacifist psychopaths happy that they were right. Because in the long run, they don’t give a damn about the people in Afghanistan, or Iraq, anyway.

In deed, they don’t give a damn about anybody but themselves. And the easiest way to shut them up, is to prove them right. As “approval”, is all they are looking for anyway.

Nuke the World, and Silence the Blood for Oil Pacifist Psychopaths. Sounds good to me.

Trash Dispatch: Palestinians demand deadline for state (AP)

Trash Dispatch: YahooNews, AP, report- us_palestinians_israel_negotiations.jpgThe chief Palestinian peace negotiator threatened on Tuesday that there would be no talks with Israel unless a deadline is set for establishing a Palestinian state — the first indication the Palestinians could scuttle a U.S.-sponsored peace summit over the issue.

Palestinian officials have repeatedly said they want a detailed timeline for talks that are expected to begin in earnest after a U.S.-sponsored Mideast conference in November or December. But although Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has consistently resisted the notion of a deadline, they had never before made the matter a condition for talks.

On Tuesday, lead negotiator Ahmed Qureia tightened the screws.

Trash Dispatch: I do not see that the Palestinians have any ground on which to stand. They are Terrorist, and should be EXTERMINATED!!!

Trash Dispatch: Iran Promises Missiles Will Fly If U.S. Attacks

Trash Dispatch: From digg.com, “Iran Promises Missiles Will Fly If U.S. Attacks”. A Telegragh.co.uk. story submitted by digger “michaelstokes”, and written by Tim Shipman, reports;

“Iran has threatened to retaliate with missile attacks if Western forces launch raids against the Islamic state’s nuclear programme — putting on a defiant show of military force to back up the message.”

Trash Dispatch: Later in the Telegraph article, Shipman writes that this “defiant show of military force”, included a flypast by three Saegheh jet fighters and armoured vehicles, one of which bore the slogan “Death to America”.”

So let’s see, 3 planes, armored *vehicles -plural; meaning more than one- and only one of the *Two or more* vehicles were painted with “Death to America”? Hmmm? That would indicate that the Iranians are in desperate need of Paint! Which is probably caused by the economic sanctions?

At any rate. The report continues saying;

“The Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, addressed a military parade in Teheran and mocked threats from the United States, while the head of the Revolutionary Guards said Iran would “pull the trigger” if attacked.”

“Their bellicose intervention came as officials in Washington warned that time was running out for the secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, to “get a result” from diplomacy or hand the initiative to White House hawks who want military action.”

Further;

“In a message directed at Western diplomats, he told the crowds: “Those who think that by using such decayed tools as psychological warfare and economic sanctions, they can stop the Iranian nation’s progress are making a mistake.”

“The parade also featured medium-range ballistic missiles which are capable of hitting Israel or US bases in Iraq and the wider Gulf region.”

“Asked how Iran would respond if any country allowed its territory to be used as a base for an attack, Mohammad Ali Jafari, the head of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards, said: “You have seen the -missiles. Just pull the trigger and shoot.” “

“He added: “Our message to the enemies is: Do not do it.
They will regret it, as they are regretting it in Iraq.” “

Trash Dispatch: Alright, enough is enuff. So just hold it right there.

In the first place, The United States Doesn’t Regret Attacking Iraq, or even kicking Iraq’s Republican Guard Ass. The only thing that the Americans regret, is trying to “help” Iraq, After the war.

In deed we can see now where it would have been better to have allowed all the terrorist of the world, including Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to take possession of Iraq so that we could have Nuked them all in one spot. But to say that we regret having started the “War in Iraq”, as it is called, is just plain ignorance.

Americans Love to fight. And hell, we don’t even care what the fight is about. Or even if it is good or bad, right or wrong, as long as it is good enough, or rather Bad enough, and Big enough, to get us up off our couches and do something other than watch morons like self-proclaimed prophet Mahmoud Ahmadinejad thump his chest and rattle his knife in attempt to gain the respect of a people who really don’t care if he lives or dies, as long as he keeps providing good television.

In deed, the so-called “War in Iraq”, is nothing more than a skirmish for Americans. And one that we have become Bored with. And even ashamed of, as, we should have just gone in there, with Ruthlessness, and Killed Everybody in sight so that there would have been No Misunderstandings as to “who” is in charge. And that’s the real reason this war has gone down hill.

Taking out Iraq was barely more than a Sneeze for the American Military. So that in effect, since there was never any “Great Military Victory”, there was never any Satisfaction.

Well, President Bush did “try”, to declare satisfaction with his “Mission Accomplished” speech on board the Aircraft Carrier, USS Abraham Lincoln.

But the Democrats soon took that away from the Americans with their own declarations of “the War is Lost”. And, “we need to get out”. “Head for the Hills”. “Hide under your Beds”.

But PLEASE, Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad! Make No Mistake! The American people were never ever really satisfied in their thirst for blood (thanks to the Democrats). And I fear that anything more than your hollow threats, will be More than enough to excite the American people again to fight. But that this time, they will not be so willing to show mercy, even to the Iranian people, as we have Learned, “mercy”, does not reward. In truth and in deed, it only causes room for dissension. And that, is where the Bush Administration went wrong in it’s handling of the War in Iraq.

War is not a game! And it should Never be fought with reservation. When I saw President Bush’s “Shock and Awe”, truly I was in shock and awe. As I knew, we were in trouble.

Targeting only military targets, is a war between governments. And by the will of the people, this should Never be allowed. Only in the targeting of both military and civilian targets alike, can a war be truly of the people.

BEWARE, Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

For the American people are Angry!
Even, at themselves!
