Trash Dispatch: Wordpress Blogs Security Warning!

Trash Dispatch:
Wordpress Blogs Security Warning!

A security flaw has been found in the new 2.2 release of the Wordpress Blog application used by Millions of online bloggers. The security flaw was found in the XML-RPC implementation of the script, and allows Registered Users to edit the post of Other users.

.

Also: Wordpress blogs using the WP-Forums Plug-in being Exploited!

from Technorati:

“Technorati has seen a number of blogs exploited by a recently announced WordPress vulnerability. The fix for it is simple: upgrade your installation or patch it. If you’re running a WordPress installation, please read about the WordPress 2.3.3. release to review your options.” [link]

from Wordpress.org

WordPress 2.3.3 is an urgent security release. If you have registration enabled a flaw was found in the XML-RPC implementation such that a specially crafted request would allow a user to edit posts of other users on that blog. In addition to fixing this security flaw, 2.3.3 fixes a few minor bugs. If you are interested only in the security fix, download the fixed version of xmlrpc.php and copy it over your existing xmlrpc.php. Otherwise, you can get the entire release here.

Also, there is a vulnerability in the WP-Forum plugin that is being actively exploited right now. If you are using this plugin, please remove it until an update is available from its author.

Since we are talking security, remember to use strong passwords and change them regularly. While you’re updating WP and your plugins, consider refreshing your passwords. [link]

.

Patch or Upgrade your installation NOW!!!

Hope for the DailyKos?

Trash Dispatch: Hope for the DailyKos?

Poorpolitics.com writes,Hillary attacked

“I can’t believe what I’m reading, from the dailykos.”
“Could this be true?”
“they’ve come to see that there’s far more news if it is “all” reported and not just stories about Republicans.”

Trash Dispatch: “Once corrupted, Always corrupted!”

So “No”, Mr. Poorpolitics. The DailyKos is simply out to make a buck, even at the cost of one of their own. Period, end of story.

New York Times retracts its smear of Ron Paul

Virginia Heffernan Trash Dispatch: Digger “Rocket99″ reports; “After receiving hundreds of complaints the NYT was forced to retract its hit piece on Ron Paul stating “The original post [the hitpiece] should not have been published with these unverified assertions and without any response from Paul.”"

The Trash Dispatch has investigated and found that “The Medium”, a New York Times Blog, did in fact publish an article By Virginia Heffernan (blogger), for which, the New York Times is now Begging forgiveness.

The New York Times describes;

About The Medium

With television and the Internet converging at last, who’s going to watch all this here-goes-nothing online video? Everything from political propaganda videos to pseudo-candid celebrity rants seems to expect an audience. “The Medium” will find, review and make sense of all those senseless new images: web video, viral video, user-driven video, custom interactive video, embedded video ads, web-based VOD, broadband television, diavlogs, vcasts, vlogs, video podcasts, mobisodes, webisodes, mashups and more.

And;

About Virginia Heffernan

Virginia Heffernan is The Medium columnist for The New York Times Magazine. Previously she spent four years as a television critic for The New York Times newspaper. Before coming to the newspaper, she wrote for Slate, and before that she was an editor at Harper’s and Talk magazines. In 2005, she published a comic novel, “The Underminer,” which she wrote with Mike Albo.Trash Dispatch: “The Underminer”, probably describes Virginia Heffernan and The Medium, better than their own “About” pages, nevertheless, both appear to be nothing more than a “Trash Dispatch!”

Hollywood Grind- Kellie Pickler Is Not Smarter than a Fifth Grad

Kellie Pickler American Idol audition
Trash Dispatch: In this “youtube” video (below), The “Hollywood Grind” writes, “Kellie Pickler thought Europe was a country, and says people in Budapest speak French in the video above. Kellie was answering a question on Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?, and the question was from third grade geography. Kellie even asked if France was a country.”

The “Hollywood Grind” writes, “Kellie is really playing the dumb blond a little too much.”

Eh, maybe. However the Trash Dispatch couldn’t help noticing that the Hollywood Grind manage to get itself Banned from Digg for being an “Adult” website. Which, means that they lost “what?”, about 20 million diggs?

Hmmm? Maybe the Hollywood Grind isn’t as smart as Kellie Picker? And besides, it is the opinion of the Trash Dispatch, especially in light of all the WAR, MURDER, and VIOLENCE that we report on; that if the world were filled with the likes of Kellie Pickler, it would be A LOT Safer Place!

(No offense to the Hollywood Grind, of course.)

At any rate, because of the Ban, that the Trash Dispatch cannot provide you with a Direct link to the Hollywood Grind, though we can provide you with the address to their degradation of Kellie Picker. After all, we are The Trash Dispatch!!!

Trash Dispatch: Texas State Sen. Kirk Watson (DEMOCRAT), Belays local blogger.

Texas State Senator Kirk Watson (DEMOCRAT)

I am Not a Crook!

Trash Dispatch: Texas State Senator Kirk Watson (DEMOCRAT), in an effort to defray scrutiny over possible (and documented) “Conflict of Interest” accusations by a local (Austin, Texas) blogger (Sal Costello), has charged said blogger, with “Character Assasination”.

Interestingly, the accusations made by blogger Sal Costello, have now been taken up by Fox 7 News who, invited both men to a debate where they could Duke it Out.

Texas State Senator Kirk Watson (DEMOCRAT), REFUSED indicating that the facts of his Conflict of Interest , were nothing more than a “Character Assassination”.

The Trash Dispatch however, has obtained a copy of “one” of the documents cited by “The Muckraker” (Sal’s blog), and found it to be an Official Record of the City of Austin, Texas.

Sal writes in The Muckraker:
“As you know, Sen. Kirk Watson, as the Chair of CAMPO, spent months lining up YES votes, to spend $910 million tax dollars to shift our freeways to tollways in Austin.

And in that time, I’ve exposed many Watson conflicts on this blog. Last week, some of those conflicts finally got into the mainstream media, the first was a live spot I did on KXAN’s lunch time show Monday.

I received a call mid week from Fox 7 News asking me to have a Toll Road debate on their news program with Sen. Kirk Watson. I agreed to the debate, but I got word that Sen. Watson declined.”

Well, DUH!!!
Like, what did you expect Sal?
It’s kinda hard to DENY Official Documents.

Sal Costello is the founder of People for Efficient Transportation and TexasTollParty.com. Costello is a national award winning marketing professional/designer who led the effort to successfully kill hundreds of millions of dollars worth of freeway tolls in Central Texas since 2004. And his fight continues.
“The nemesis of more than one elected Central Texas politician” – The Austin Chronicle
“Costello knows this business of shuttin down toll roads” – FOX7 News

Trash Dispatch: A note, into the “character” of Texas State Senator Kirk Watson (DEMOCRAT). According to “Project Vote Smart” (a non-profit, non-partisan, voter awareness group);

“Senator Kirk Watson REPEATEDLY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY
RESPONSES TO CITIZENS ON ISSUES THROUGH THE 2006
NATIONAL POLITICAL AWARENESS TEST WHEN ASKED TO DO SO BY

Key national leaders of both major parties including:
John McCain, Republican Senator
Geraldine Ferraro, Former Democratic Congresswoman
Michael Dukakis, Former Democratic Governor
Bill Frenzel, Former Republican Congressman
Richard Kimball, Project Vote Smart President”

The GOP YouTube Debate Is Back On

Trash Dispatch:

This just in: The Republican CNN/YouTube debate, in limbo for the past few weeks, is on again.But Mitt Romney, who won Saturday's Iowa straw poll and has criticized the debate format, has yet to commit to the Nov. 28 event.

In truth, it appears as though Mitt Romney is the only candidate who realizes that the "youtube debates" are a sham. ("not" that the Trash Dispatch supports Mitt Romney.) But in acknowledging the "genius" of CNN to improve their "ratings" utilizing the naivety, and even the vanity of bloggers and the general Internet community at large; the Trash Dispatch, finds itself on the side of "Mitt", but only because of the moderation of the youtube debates.

In deed, "any debate" which is moderated, isn't worth the time it takes to watch it. Especially when, the so-called "moderation", is in reality a manipulation.

Nevertheless, the Trash Dispatch in acknowledging it's own vanity, may in deed submit it's own video interrogation, for the purpose of seeing "our own name in lights", and of course, *for the ratings*. However, the Trash Dispatch because of it's very nature, must also acknowledge and *Declare*, that as a matter of true fact finding, their is nothing better than "calling or writing" your candidates for a one-on-one interview, "Personally"!

After all, if a candidate doesn't care enough to answer your questions personally, and without any sort of "Side-show forum". Then he obviously does not care about "You, the little guy", but only about the ratings. Which is not to say that the candidates have the time to answer each and every question, of each and every person in America. But then again, even Jesus took the time to stop, and heal some low-life bum - otherwise known as a "little guy" that nobody cared for - and he did that, on his way to the cross.

The Top 100 Conservative Political Websites

Unfortunately, the Trash Dispatch did not make this list.
But then again, we weren't trying.

Heading up the Top 3 on the list;

  1. Drudge Report
  2. Fox News
  3. Wall Street Journal
After that, we have my personal favorite WorldNetDaily at #5.
Town Hall at #9.
Rush Limbaugh at #15
Michelle Malkin at #20
Ann Coulter at #32
Radio Talk show host
Michael Savage, Bill O’Reilly, and Sean Hannity at 37, 38, and 39, respectively. With Laura Ingraham coming in at #44.

After Laura Ingram however, I see a lot of room for the "Trash Dispatch" to fit into the Top 100 as the only other websites I recognize as any that I have visited are
Scrappleface at #98, and the Intellectual Conservative at #100 as in deed, it was the Intellectual Conservative who compiled the Top 100 list.

So Congratulations from the Trash Dispatch to all those who did make the Top 100 List, minus one, as "The Trash Dispatch", fully expects to be there next year. (not!)

Political website cited for "Free Speech" crime

Trash Dispatch:

"How long before they come for Your blog, or even You?"

WND Exclusive
Political website cited for crime of 'offending'
Posted: July 25, 2007
1:00 a.m. Eastern
By Bob Unruh
© 2007 WorldNetDaily.com

"A website featuring comments by, for and about "principled conservatism" is being investigated by the Canadian government, and could be fined or ordered shut down for some postings about Islam and homosexuality."

Question:
"How long before they come for You, and Your blog?"

And by "they", I mean. Whatever Government you happen to live under which,
for the Trash Dispatch, just happens to be the United States of America which,
isn't so United anymore.

While most of us "bloggers", would like to think of our blogs as being on the scale of the "New York Times", or of the "World Net Daily", or even of our own small "Hometown News Paper". Most of us *actually think, that our blogs are nothing more than the ramblings of a demented man (or woman, as the case may be), and that the Government would in No Way percieve "Our meager little blog", as any kind of a threat. And for the most part, that is true. However, the Real Truth, and the actual Fact of the matter, is that it is NOT the actions of our Government we need to fear.

For the government, *Has No Mind of It's Own*!

Remember? A government "of" the people, "by" the people, and "for" the people?

In Truth, therefore. The threat to our blogs, and/or, even to our Daily Free Speech, comes Not from the government, but from the *Special Interest Groups*, "by" whom, the government is controlled.

.
Read the full story of how one "woman's" blog, found this to be true in Canada, at the World Net Daily, HERE!

{Special Note: I think of the Trash Dispatch, as just that, "trash". (FUN trash, and sometimes even Good trash. But trash, nonetheless.) Yet, how long before Somebody, with Ties to some Powerful Special Interest Group, becomes "offended" by the Trash the I produce, Declares the Trash Dispatch as an Offense, a Producer of Hate, and a Threat to "their" agenda; and forces the U.S. Government to Shut Down the Trash Dispatch, and throw ME in some Dark Prison Hole, where I can never be found, or Heard from again?}

{and one Final note: *if there is anything we need to fear, it is our own actions, of inaction*.}
