A Word about DTV Converters!

A Word about DTV Converters!

I bought two DTV Converters.
One for the wife, and one for me.

The first, we bought at Walmart.
The RCA DTA800B1 DTV Converter.
The "B1" means that this DTV Converter has "Pass-through".
The RCA DTA800B1 DTV Converter has an Extremely "senior friendly" remote control with LARGE, Easy to Read buttons. The wife really likes this one.

The one I use, is the Zenith DTT901 DTV Converter box which also has "Pass-through" capabilities, but a very small remote, that is very hard to read even for me. I do like the Channel Menu better. And the remote even has a "Favorites" feature that the RCA DTA800B1 does not have. It also has a "Previous Channel" button that the RCA DTA800B1 does not. But the remote itself is just so small, that it's in no way ergonomic.

The Channel List is much easier to use on the Zenith DTT901 DTV Converter. But you must tune to each channel independently in order to populate the Channel List with channel listings. The RCA DTA800B1 DTV Converter downloads channel listing all at once but, then you find yourself sitting there waiting for the channel listings to download instaed of watching TV. So in the end, I think I prefer the Zenith DTT901 DTV Converter for channel listings because of it's channel menu which makes it easy to scan through the channels while watching the current channel.
