It's Fun to Shoot some people...

Yahoo! News - General Counseled Over 'Fun to Shoot' Talk:

"WASHINGTON - A Marine Corps general with battle awards is being counseled to watch his words more carefully after publicly observing that 'it's fun to shoot some people.'

Lt. Gen. James Mattis, a career infantry officer now in charge of developing ways to better train and equip Marines, also made fun of the manhood of Afghans during comments Tuesday while speaking at a forum in San Diego.

On Thursday, Gen. Mike Hagee, the commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, issued a statement of regret about Mattis' remarks, saying they reflected 'the unfortunate and harsh realities of war.'

According to an audio recording, Mattis had said, 'Actually, it's a lot of fun to fight. You know, it's a hell of a hoot. ... It's fun to shoot some people. I'll be right upfront with you, I like brawling.'

He added, 'You go into Afghanistan (news - web sites), you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn't wear a veil. You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them.'"

Ok. Let's face people. It IS, Fun to Shoot people. That's why we have Video Games, Rubber Band Fights, Spit Ball Fights, and Paint Ball. Not that it's human nature to kill, but to have fun. And killing people, gives you a sense of Accomplishment, as does ANY game. Basketball, Football, Baseball, Soccer, ...ect, ect. But in the human need to achieve and to accomplish, let's not forget Cooking, Sewing, Creating a webpage. Gardening, House decorating, Entertaining! And we like to Talk about those things. No, we LOVE, to talk about those things.

But for some reason, it's "Not Right", for this man, "Lt. Gen. James Mattis",
to talk about his "craft", with all the Ferver and Zeal with which WE Talk about ours. Why? Are we hypocrites?; that we would condemn others for doing the Same Thing in their respective crafts that we do in ours? And if not, then who are we to judge?

The only other explaination for critisizing this man, is one of Insanity.
That is, that people do not know that they are being hypocritical.
And because they do not know, neither do they realize that as they condemn Lt. Gen. James Mattis, so too do they condemn themselves.

Judge not, lest ye be Judged. -TC
