Trash Dispatch: “The Dallas Cowboys still stand alone atop the NFC East.”
frm: DallasCowboys.com- Quarterback Tony Romo’s four touchdown passes at Giants Stadium, including a back-breaking 50-yarder to Terrell Owens in the fourth quarter, sparked a decisive 31-20 victory over the second-place New York Giants that pushed Dallas’ division lead to two games.
The Giants (6-3) appeared to pull even at 24-24 early in the fourth quarter, but Brandon Jacob’s 6-yard touchdown run was nullified by a holding penalty and the offense was forced to settle for a 26-yard field goal to make the score 24-20.
Six plays later, Romo hit Owens for his second touchdown catch of the day. The 50-yard score put the Cowboys ahead for good, 31-20, with 10:38 remaining.
Owens led all Cowboys receivers with six catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Romo completed 20 of 28 passes for 247 yards.
